Jonathan Bray

Jonathan Bray has been Assistant Director of pteg since the Unit was set up in 2003. He currently leads on public affairs as well as on the Unit’s work on heavy rail, light rail, sustainability and social inclusion.

Jonathan’s background is in both transport campaigning and transport policy. He was Campaign Director of Save our Railways - the high profile campaign against rail privatisation. He was also one of the founders and coordinators of ALARM UK—the national network of community groups that successfully defeated the ‘roads for prosperity’ roads programme of the early 1990s. He has also worked for the Campaign for Better Transport on a range of sustainable transport issues – and is currently a Board Member.

Jonathan also has considerable transport policy experience – as a consultant his clients included local transport authorities, the BBC and the Strategic Rail Authority (for whom he led a major national public transport good practice project).
